Meet Mira Tanna
A dedicated public servant and advocate

From housing affordability to creating thriving business districts, Mira believes that we can strive for a better District 3 and improve the City Beautiful for all of our residents. As the Grants Manager for the City of Orlando for the past six years, Mira has helped secure millions of dollars for our city to improve our water quality, make our schools safer, protect our communities from hurricanes and increase access to local produce.
She is a public transit user, taking the Lynx bus to City Hall for work each day. She sees every day how we can make our transit system better and make our neighborhoods more walkable. Mira is active in the community as the Clerk for the Orlando Quakers and the chair of the Orange County’s Local Mitigation Strategy Working Group.

She has lived in and loved Orlando for many years, working to make housing more accessible and expanding literacy through our library system. She understands the operations of local government and is deeply familiar with Orlando’s finances. Mira lives with her husband, a UCF professor, and her two children in the Rosemont neighborhood.
