Accomplishments

For her effectiveness at improving grant revenues to the City of Orlando, Mira was recognized among over 4,000 employees as the City of Orlando 2021 Employee of the Year.

Mira's work has supported District 3 residents through the following grants:

  • Lake Fairview Park: $200,000
    Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program Grant to improve docks, playground, restroom and facilities

  • College Park Main Street: $150,000
    $1.5M CDBG-CV Grant that provides a $40K beautification subaward for College Park Main Street; Watershed Planning Initiative for Howell Branch Watershed which is examining flood issues

  • Rosemont Neighborhood Center:
    $1.5M CDBG-CV Grant provides academic support and device checkout at Rosemont Neighborhood Center, $2.85M CDBG-Mitigation grant that converts six neighborhood centers including Rosemont into Resilience Hubs

  • Little Wekiva Watershed: $1.5M
    Florida Department of Environmental Protection Nonpoint Source grant to improve water quality

  • Citywide: $1M
    Urban & Community Forestry Grant expands tree equity, workforce development and resilience to hurricanes in disadvantaged areas

  • Edgewater High School: $750,000
    Florida Department of Children & Families MPARMS Grant to expand mentoring program to Edgewater & Jones High Schools

  • Leu Gardens: $40,000
    Florida Arts & Culture General Program Support grant - $44,930; United Arts Cultural Tourism Grant

  • Windsong Estates: $471,000
    Florida Department of Environmental Protection Nonpoint Source Septic to Sewer Grant

  • Mennello Museum: $31,388
    Florida Arts & Culture General Program Support grant

  • Citywide: $9.75M (Pending)
    Hazard Mitigation Grant Program for Southeast Lakes Basin for flood mitigation for the region's only Level 1 trauma center
